I'm writing a story about women who have tried "nutty" diets that actually worked (even if just short term). Some examples:

*I ate fast food and nothing else
*I ate tons of a special Cuban soup my mom invented
*I stopped drinking coffee and cola
*I ate everything I wanted until 4 PM and then stopped chowing down
*I drank a glass of merlot a night with dinner
*I ate one giant bag of candy corns throughout the day and nothing else (that was actually me)
*I ate Cocoa Puffs anytime I wanted something sweet
*I switched from beer to wine
*I ate no solid foods, only liquids

Please write up your little adventure on the scale with this info:
Occupation:

Like most of us, I've been on diets: There's the Slim Fast -- who can feel nourished drinking those drinks twice a day?? Doesn't even begin to satisfy my soul for food. There's the Carbohydrate Addict's Diet -- mostly proteins for two meals and then eat anything you want for an hour for your third meal of the day. I'm definitely a carbo-addict here, but my one meal of the day that I could eat for an hour only served to keep me addicted to the carbs (and I lost weight on it! but gained it all back and more when I could no longer stomach the egg omlet for breakfast every morning -- too heavy on my stomach.) There's the juice fasting diet: I felt wonderful, but as soon as I started eating food again, I was back into those refined carbs.

How about you? What diets have you tried and it just didn't work in the long haul?

The 100% Whey Protein (Chocolate)for: $26.00
Also, the guy in the store was telling me for a little guy like me he thinks I should use Egg protein, because its a slower releasing protein, and it would hold off longer inbtween meals, is he right?.. Should I take the egg or the whey?... AND!... Myoplex is it worth it? Should I spend the money on the 36 pack of Myoplex?

I gained about 10 pounds of fat during the last few months of inactivity and splurging on hohos. Anyhow, for the last 2 1/2, 3 weeks I've been exercising more and just watching what I eat. My goal is to convert the fat around my waist into lean muscle and maybe lose a pants size, back to my 32 waist. So far so good, I've been drinking lots of water; at least 1.5 liters a day and eating more fruits and vegetables....

I see some results but they are still minor...can you guys share your experiences on an "eating healthy diet" not, your typical no carb, or southbeach diet; my kind of diet is eat good natural food/ stay away from soda diet - how long does it take? am I going to have to run run to the threadmill to lose these 10 pounds? Thanks to all for contributing to my post.

I thought I'd try my pumpkin pie this year using Stevia Extract Powder instead of sugar. I followed the swap guidelines and used 1/2 tsp (slightly more than called for) instead of the 3/4 cup of sugar. Mixed the stevia with the spices and stirred into the pumpkin pie mix and baked for the required length of time.

Results? the pie was decent but not sweet enough, which can be remedied by using more stevia next time. The problem I encountered though, is this: the pie cracked about 1 inch inside the circumference of the shell. The cooler the pie got, the more pronounced the crack.

What happened? How can I avoid the crack in the future?

Anybody have any ideas?
